Who we are

Having worked in LGBTQIA+ advocacy in the Seattle area for several years, Cade Schmidt had long felt the region lacked spaces that centered transgender and gender-expansive people, specifically transmasculine people. In March 2023, he put up the transmasc Batman light on Instagram and Lex, inviting transmasc Seattleites to come hang out at a bar in Capitol Hill - hoping some attendees would be willing to help establish a community group.

Hollis Hamilton was one of the first people to arrive and jumped at the opportunity to build transmasc-centered group from the ground up. While balancing busy schedules, Hollis, Cade, and several volunteers along the way developed Transmasc Seattle’s core ethos
